What type of wax are the candles made from?

Currently we use Three different types of beeswax for our candles.

THe primary one is a local beeswax we purchase in large ~30 pound blocks that we filter ourselves to preserve as much intergraty in that beeswax as possible. It means that it retains a rich color tone and that intense scent disticnt to beeswax. This one is used for all the Molded candles and a portion of the tapers.

the secondary one is a white pelletizes form that we use for a selection of our colored and scented tapers. The reason for this is because some colors aren’t possible to acheive from a yellow base.

The THird one is our sunbleached blocks which we make from the local beeswax blocks by leaving for months to bleach in the sun. Unfortunately this is a long process and there isn’t enough of a supply to use this in lieu of the pelletized yet.

How do the candles burn?

Each candle is has been tested thoroughly to burn cleanly without dripping. However you will only get an optimal burn from a candle if you care for it and provide proper candle maintenance.

PLease look over our candle care page and note that for some candles there are specific suggestions on their listing page.

what is the cement suitable for?

our cement collection was design for the purpose of holding our candles. they aren’t necessarily limited to that but we do not recommend using any of them for food since they aren’t capable of being submerged in water or placed in the dishwashed. they can be wipe clean with a damp towel.

how do i remove wax that has collected on a cement holder?

First allow the wax to cool completely and then simply try to lift it from the cement. if that fails place it in the freezer, this should allow the wax to contract even further and should now lift from the cement. if that too fails place in the oven at 170 degrees upside down with something beneath it to catch the melted wax.

What type of scent throw do your tapers have?

Our tapers are have what is called a cold scent throw. which means you smell them when they aren’t burning and in the moment you blown them out but not when they’re actively burning. this way you won’t have anything competing with the delectable food you’ve prepared.
